Our Story

Every journey begins with a story, and ours started with a search. Like many first-generation Latinos, our founder found herself in her 20s looking for a therapist who could truly understand her experience—someone who could relate to the complexity of straddling two cultures, who understood the weight of family expectations, and who could appreciate both her struggles and her strengths without requiring lengthy explanations.

That search revealed a gap in mental health care for our community, and Cultura Wellness Therapy was born from this need. Founded in 2022, we set out to create what was missing: a therapeutic space where Latine/x individuals could feel truly seen, heard, and understood.

Why We’re Different

  • We don't just understand your journey—we live it. When you talk about being the family manager at a young age, navigating machismo or marianismo in your relationships, or feeling caught between two cultures, we get it. There's no need to over-explain the weight of generational money wounds or the complexity of being "ni de aquí, ni de allá." We're walking that same path.

  • Our therapy approach breaks free from traditional Western-only perspectives. We honor our ancestral wisdom while embracing modern therapeutic techniques, creating a practice that truly reflects our community's needs and strengths.

  • We believe in the power of comprehensive healing. That's why we collaborate with various healers and treatment modalities, offering you a holistic approach to wellness that respects both traditional and contemporary healing practices.

  • Your cultura isn't just acknowledged here—it's celebrated and integrated into your healing journey. We understand that your cultural identity is a source of strength, and we help you reconnect with your roots in meaningful ways.

  • We envision a world where first-generation Latinos can access mental health care that truly speaks to their experience. Where therapy is a space of cultural celebration, not cultural compromise. Where healing happens in community, and where our ancestral wisdom meets modern therapeutic practices.
